I have heard that it bombed. The ending is a big middle finger to the people that have waited to see this film for a few years. Of course This is only speculation.

Seems like no one has seen it except the critics! Oh well I guess that is how it goes. I'll be lucky to find it on DVD. If anyone has seen it please post here with your thoughts as a Star Wars fan but please no spoilers(if there are any). Thanks

Unfortunately it only screened in 8 cities. So the fans got screwed again. On Feb 20th it'll open in 10 more cities. It's such a crock of !@#$ I don't even know if I want to see it anymore.

Well I suppose so much could be expected with all the delays! I think a lot of people just gave up on it and forgot about it. Perhaps it will become a great cult classic! Thanks for the information Rev!

I heard it came out, but so far not a wide release. I had been pretty excited to see it, but now I don't even know if I will go... That is if it even opens in a city close enough to me!

I thought Fan Boys was supposed to be released wide? I believe that's what I read on the Yahoo movie page. I live in Atlanta, and I just knew there was going to be a few theaters that would show the movie. Turns out that's not the case.

It's out in 8 cities right now and it will open in 10 more this Friday (20 Feb). As far as people talking as if they've seen it, Weinstein screened the entire movie at the San Diego Comic Con last year and to a few groups at various theaters to see audience reaction to the two different versions. Then there's the fact that bootlegs have been on the internet for a year and a half now.

It doesn't explain why they only added 10 cities after the original 8 instead of a wide release. All I get out of that is Weinstein is upset because it's not another "Scary Movie" parody rip off movie like the other 2/3 of the crap that comes out of their studios. Admittedly the other 1/3 I love, but those parody movies are just crap and that's what they wanted to turn "Fanboys" into. And since the true fans rebelled against the new version Weinstein is screwing with us.
